MORE PLACES
New routes to new neighborhoods.
If approved, Proposition 1 would add four new bus routes along with seasonal and special event service. This means more ways to get around your neighborhood and to new neighborhoods riders can’t reach today.
FOUR NEW ROUTES
The plan adds four new routes serving the Tacoma, Lakewood and Puyallup areas:

Key
Proposed New Routes
Seasonal Trolleys
All Other Routes
- Route 40: Port of Tacoma & East Tacoma
- Route 51: Central Tacoma & Lakewood
- Route 63: Northeast Tacoma
- Route 491: Puyallup (weekday service)
MORE POSSIBILITIES
Special-event service would go where the crowds go without the parking hassles.
- Waterfront Trolleys: Gig Harbor and the Tacoma-Ruston waterfront and Point Defiance area, connecting people to outdoor adventures, local businesses and summer fun.
- Special Event Service: Fairs, sporting events, festivals, and concert series — think Washington State Fair, summer concerts, and big game days such as the recent Summer of Soccer Fan Zone and Rainiers games. Service would be determined annually based on community events.

Special event service already moves serious numbers:
More than
100,000
boardings in peak Washington State Fair years.
More than
12,000
Riders in a single day at events like the Freedom Fair.

Community input from young people helped Shape the proposed new routes.
We recently partnered with the Action Mapping Project, which is a research initiative where young people map how they spend their time and move throughout Pierce County. Using data from more than 10,000 students, we evaluated how the package would improve access to the places youth live, learn, and gather.
The results show a desire for stronger connections (like proposed) that close the gap to key destinations in Lakewood, Northeast, Downtown, and East Tacoma, helping more youth safely access the places that matter most to them.
